Sahara in Kerala and Coimbatore, Soon in Chennai ?

THE FIRST real estate project in the kerala state by the Sahara Group would be launched shortly at Kakkanad, the new IT destination in the state. The project to come up on 15 acres would have 700 residential apartments, a shopping mall and a four-star hotel. A multiplex with three screens, an artificial lake and a 40,000 square feet club house would also be constructed as part of the project, sources said.

Its know that Sahara has acquired huge land near Avadi, SA Engineering college, Chennai some time back. I got to know that Sahara is still further buying some 100 acres of land for their Chennai project. The location is very advantageous with Bangalore Highway near by and with host of industries around Sirperumbadur.

Though it would be one of the smaller projects of Sahara Infrastructure & Housing, the Kochi project would target the high-end market, sources said. Sales have already started at a brisk pace though the company has not announced nor advertised the project expect erect a few hoardings in the city.

The Rs 300-crore project is likely to be completed in three to four years although the housing component of the project would be finished much earlier. Two projects that the group is promoting in South India are the ones in Kochi and a major project in Coimbatore.

The Coimbatore project falls under the Sahara City Homes category and is spread over 150-160 acres. The two would be taken up simultaneously, sources said. The Kochi project would fall under the category of Sahara Grace, they added. Enquiries revealed that the initial rates that are being charged are around Rs 3,000 per square feet. Sources said that the project would be formally announced in the state by January-end or early February. Kochi in general and Kakkanad in particular have been attracting builders from all over the country. Almost all builders who have entered the state have projects in Kakkanad where an IT boom is expected.
