The city is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, with a population of just under 6 million, which make it the fourth-largest in India. A port city and important manufacturing center, Chennai thrives on automobile production and information technology.
My dad had already cancelled Hindu and paid Rs 280 for TOI. We also got a good bag as compliments. One of my relative implement SAP for TOI mumbai and he used to say, the paper is worth Rs 70 and they sell for Rs 1.5 and they earn Rs 1000 per paper on advertising.
I feel it is enough of Hindu’s monopoly. They charge higher for classifieds. Imagine we get good results thro magicbricks for free but Hindu charges Rs 1000 for a 2 line advt.
I really like Hindu but they charge higher Rs 3 and some times more on weekends and their classifieds are costly.
they should reduce prices. Also they felt the pinch on Epaper where they reduced from $10 to $3.75.
TOI is giving epaper for free..
